We believe.....that the Christian faith is good news for everybody.

We believe that the Bible reveals to us God's infinite and unconditional love for us, and his pure and perfect plans for our well-being and our future.

 

We believe....the world is good

We believe that through the laws of physics and the forces of nature, God created a universe that is magnificent, awesome, and essentially good.

 

We believe....in the need for salvation

We believe that evil is real, and is a blight on God's good creation. When we look at the world around us we see the reality of decay, destruction and death. These are not God's will; they come about because people have turned their backs on God, and cut themselves off from him who is the source of all life. This is what sin is – every thought, word or deed that cuts us off from God.

 

We believe.....in Jesus

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and our Saviour. He came to the world to show us how much God loves us, and to restore us to him by taking the penalty of sin upon himself on the cross.

 

We believe....in life after death

We believe that because Jesus died and rose again, we will too. Because Jesus destroyed the barrier of sin between us and God, we can share in his eternal life if we just put our faith and trust in him.

 

We believe.....in life before death

We believe that the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ is not just about the hereafter, it is about the here and now. We believe the gospel of peace and love has the power to transform lives and transform the world. The gospel calls us to oppose persecution, oppression and injustice, to care for the weak and vulnerable, and to care for creation. We believe social and environmental action is an expression of worship.

 

We believe....that God is with us

We believe the Holy Spirit is the presence of God with us, helping us to become more like Jesus in our character and our values, and equipping us with spiritual gifts. Through the Holy Spirit we don't just know about God, we know God and live in relationship with him.  Through the Bible, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, God speaks to us today, revealing his will and leading us on the road of salvation.

 

We are an Anglican church in the 'open evangelical' tradition. We welcome anyone who would answer 'yes' to the question 'do you want to follow Jesus?', and anyone who might just be interested in finding out more.
